Welcome to the to the web page of the Shriver Greys, Company G, 27th Virginia Volunteer Infantry. One of the premiere confederate reenactment groups for 16 years. We take pride in portraying a company of men that hailed from the Wheeling area of Western Virginia.

If you have an itch to put on the wool, we’d be glad to have you join our ranks. Take a look around and if you’re interested contact one of the NCOs listed in the enlistment section of our page.

The 27th helps preserve the battlefields, support living history days, and restore Civil War soldiers' final resting place by replacing their markers when we discover their locations.  Our local SCV Camp was founded in the memory of founder of the 27th and his brother: Daniel and Samuel Shriver.

Music has become a part of our reenacting group with Brian Wetzel, Bill Whipkey, Jeff Wormley, Bob Rowley, Joe Cain, and others who enjoy playing old folk and civil war songs.  Join us around the campfire for a great time in fellowship and history.
